Global Health Monitoring and Evaluation is a 12-credit graduate certificate program that will train students for careers as future leaders prepared to address real-world issues affecting the human condition.
As a student in this program, you will acquire expertise in global health program evaluation. Your classmates will most likely be practicing professionals with a background in health care policies, systems, practices or clinicians and health administrators interested in increasing their knowledge and skills in the global arena.
Program Completion Timeline
- All concentration courses will be offered at least once each year to enable you to complete the program within 9 months.
- Although most students complete the program 9 months, you will be allowed up to 3 years to complete the program.
- Participants can start the program in the spring or fall term.

We have designed the program so that you will develop the expertise in global health that you need to succeed in positions requiring this knowledge.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion, you will be able to do the following:
- Address Systemic Problems: Learn how to tackle challenges impacting local and global communities through effective M&E practices.
- Analyze Health Needs: Gain skills in assessing population health needs using both qualitative and quantitative information.
- Evaluate Programs: Understand how to identify key program elements, monitor costs and effectiveness, and evaluate the success of implementations.
- Develop Essential Tools: Create a program logic model, develop an M&E plan, and set quantitative and qualitative indicators and targets.
- Data Mastery: Use relevant data collection and analysis methods, identify effective tools, and leverage program data for informed decision-making.
- Ethical Guidelines: Apply ethical standards in data collection and reporting.
