Hannah Wild

Bio

Hannah Wild, MD, is a surgeon at the University of Washington in Seattle.  Dr. Wild received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and subsequently obtained her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine with a concentration in International Humanitarian Health.  Dr. Wild completed her Rural Surgery Fellowship in 2023 at the University of Washington.  

Dr. Wild is an international expert in Humanitarian and War Surgery and specializes in the surgical response to civilians in conflict.  She is an Honorary Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, Department of Surgery, and was a Global Fellow at the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies at Brown University.  Dr. Wild received an NIH Fogarty Global Health Equity scholarship in 2024.  She has served as a consultant for the World Health Organization and the United Nations for improving and researching civilian casualties in conflict; she specializes in improvised explosive devices and the injuries they cause.  Dr. Wild has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles focusing on global and humanitarian surgery and has taught numerous courses internationally regarding Humanitarian Surgery.  For the Masters in Trauma Sciences, Dr. Wild will serve as the Co-Course Director for TRMA 704, Global Surgery and Humanitarian Emergencies.
