Bio
Rebecca Schwartz, MD, is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and an attending surgeon at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. She completed her general surgery residency at Ascension St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore in 2021, followed by a fellowship in surgical critical care and acute care surgery at the University of Florida in 2023.
Dr. Schwartz provides timely, high-quality care to sick and injured patients, which includes both operative and non-operative management of various injuries and pathologies. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she serves as the Associate Clerkship Director for the medical students on their surgical clerkship.
Dr. Schwartz’s research interests include improving pre-hospital care in the trauma population, whole blood resuscitation, violence and injury prevention, and quality improvement initiatives.
