Bio
Michael Soh is an Associate Professor in the Graduate School at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). He received his PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles where his doctoral work largely focused on humanism in healthcare. Prior to UMB, Dr. Soh served as a faculty member in the Department of Health Professions Education (HPE) at the Uniformed Services University's F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine. In his nearly 15 years in health professions education, he has worked in various academic roles related to primary care, surgery, geriatric medicine, assessment and evaluation, and curriculum development. His research interests span multiple domains of health professions including but not limited to clinical decision-making, wellbeing and burnout, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. He mentors graduate and professional students and teaches in the HPE program. He is actively involved with Division I (Education in the Professions) of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of Graduate Medical Education and Perspectives on Medical Education.
