Bio
Dr. Li is a forensic pathologist with specialty in forensic pediatrics in the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME). She has conducted more than 10,000 forensic autopsies and has qualified numerous times as a forensic expert, testifying in the state and federal courts of the United States. Dr. Li is also a professor of UMB and adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins Medical School. She has taught forensic pathology to the medical students, pathology residents, forensic fellows, and pathology assistants. She served on the advisory committees for the Ph.D. program Examination Committee member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, UMBC (2014-2018). She is a fellow of the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME) and the Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). She is the Vice-President of Harvard Associates in Police Sciences, Inc. She has authored and co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and 3 book chapters. She is the Editor of "Forensic Medicine -an English textbook for medical students, law students and forensic experts." Her major research interests include sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), pediatric head trauma, and drug related deaths. Dr. Li serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Forensic Research and Injury Epidemiology. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine.
