Study design, biostatistics, data management, scientific communication and the ethical, legal and regulatory issues in clinical research.

Clinicians and scientists who wish to conduct clinical research often need additional didactic training in order to gain needed skills that are not covered in their health professional or graduate education. The MS in Epidemiology and Clinical Research (Clinical Research Concentration) is a 30-credit program designed specifically to meet the needs of clinicians and scientists by providing a combination of coursework and research experiences needed for a successful career in clinical investigation. Students may tailor the Master’s degree toward their interests by selecting electives from advanced epidemiology and biostatistics, patient-oriented research, gerontology, and human genetics. The Certificate in Clinical Research is a 13-credit program that offers didactic training in clinical and translational research over a shorter period and without the hands-on research component.
