Join us in shaping the future of EDI leadership.
The diversity career path features our MS in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership—the inaugural program of its kind in Maryland. Tailored to cater to professionals in healthcare, science, social work, law, community engagement, education, and public safety, our curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive training for DEI practitioners in various fields.
Diversity in biomedical sciences is critical, especially in the field of regulatory science and pharmaceutical sciences, which impacts medication development and the pharmaceutical industry. By strengthening, supporting, and encouraging the voices of talented individuals of diverse backgrounds in regulatory science and pharmaceutical sciences, we can better address disparities in health care. Students interested in further training opportunities should consider the Regulatory Science Fellowship and the NIH Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) program that is part of the PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Health Services Research programs.
Our diversity programs provide a comprehensive approach to DEI leadership. Designed to meet the demands of the profession amidst heightened need and scrutiny, the tailored curricula empowers future leaders to drive meaningful change in the field while advancing their professional expertise.
Diversity and Intercultural Leadership program instruction occurs online, with a primary focus on asynchronous learning. While asynchronous activities will concentrate on lectures, readings, discussions, and critical reflection, etc., they are several synchronous activities of real-time discussions, small group work, and role-playing exercises. Master's students will participate in mock facilitation, like the one-credit Intercultural Impact Institute which takes place over two consecutive days during the spring semester.
Classes for the Pharmaceutical Sciences program will be delivered in-person or via synchronous distance learning technology to students at both the School of Pharmacy's Baltimore and Shady Grove campuses. The Pharmaceutical Health Services Research program courses are held in-person.
