Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

We are committed to cultivating a culture and space of safe, equitable, and radical belonging for students, faculty, and staff. 

We promote social, economic, cultural, and environmental justice initiatives to illuminate and dismantle the impact of power, privilege, and oppression affecting multiple identities. We also advocate for anti-racism, anti-oppression, and anti-discrimination policies, procedures, and action throughout the School of Graduate Studies.

The School of Graduate Studies aims to promote a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice for all students, faculty, and staff where all people feel welcome and supported. We are dedicated to transforming and advancing our efforts through the following actions:

1. Attract and retain leadership, faculty, staff, and students from historically underrepresented populations
2. Create, cultivate, and sustain a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive GS culture for faculty and staff
3. Create, cultivate, and sustain a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive GS culture for students
4. Promote knowledge, resources, and shared understanding of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusive excellence in professional and curricula development
5. Improve GS Accountability and Transparency using EDI Metrics
