UMB Research Delegation Attends VIII International Conference of Gerontology at Universidad de Costa Rica
For five days in July, a research delegation from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) participated in the VIII International Conference of Gerontology at the University of Costa Rica (UCR). Funding from the Alicia and Yaya Initiative in Global Aging Research allowed 10 UMB researchers to travel to Costa Rica from July 19-23, where they made invaluable connections with UCR faculty, paving the way for continued collaboration in aging research.
The delegation also visited the Guanacaste, home of the Nicoya Peninsula, one of only five "Blue Zones" in the world, which are known for the longevity of their inhabitants.
