Doctoral Hooding Ceremony
Planning is underway to honor recent summer 2020, fall 2020 and spring 2021 graduates during this time of virtual celebrations. One element of the Graduate School's Virtual Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will be a video tribute which will be posted May 20, 2021 by 5pm.
- Submit your personal information here to be mailed your PhD hood for the virtual tribute as soon as possible but before March 30, 2021.
- Your mentor of record will be contacted to submit a recorded introduction for you, instructions are attached. Deadline is March 30, 2021.
Students may purchase souvenir regalia directly from Oak Hill, UMB regalia provider. Orders will be shipped directly to you.
Diplomas will reflect the official graduation date of May 20, 2021, and will be mailed to graduating students via first-class mail by the Office of the Registrar. In addition, electronic diplomas will be available from the registrar’s office for graduates needing proof of their degree prior to their official diploma arriving in the mail.
During the month of March, students will receive the bill for their diploma and graduation fee. Students should contact Student Accounting (6-2930) with any questions. Diplomas will not be released to students with outstanding balances. For an additional fee, hoods can be mailed internationally. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Confidentiality Flag and Graduation
If you have placed a confidentiality flag on your student account, your name will not appear in any Graduation materials including the Commencement Program, Doctoral Hooding Program, List of Award Recipients, etc. To remove your Confidentiality Flag before graduation, log-in to your SURFS account and make changes by April 23, 2021.
