Application Process
Step #1 - Apply to Degree Program:
To qualify for the Henriatta Selle Tiri Scholarship, you may only apply to the fall semester of either the M.S. in Global Health or the M.S. in Health Science. Review application and program requirements here.
Step #2 - Anwer Scholarship Questions within program application:
To be determine eligibility for the scholarship, you will be asked a series of questions regarding your employment. Please answer these questions truthfully and in their entirety before finishing your application.
To be considered for the Henrietta Selle Tiri Scholarship you must possess a 3.0 GPA and complete your application to the M.S. in Health Science or M.S. in Global Health.
Here's what you'll need:
- Statement of Purpose
- Please download the Tiri Scholarship Writing Prompt to inform your response.
- A complete resume or CV
- 3 Letters of recommendation
- TOEFL/IELTS English Language Proficiency Exam Scores
- If your country of residency is listed under Exemptions, this requirement will be waived.
- 1 Set of transcripts from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended
- Unofficial copies of your transcripts will be accepted to determine an admission decision, but you will be responsible for providing official copies if admitted.
- MANDATORY: Completed HST Employment Verification Document
All of the above listed are required documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered by the selection committee.

Applicants whose native language or language of the home is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam. The minimum acceptable TOEFL score for admission is 80 for the internet-based test (IBT). IELTS test takers must score no less than Band 7 (total). Some graduate programs have higher minimum score requirements.
Applicants who are citizens of any of the countries on the list below and whose total education (primary – tertiary) was conducted in English are not required to take an English proficiency exam: Botswana, Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Tanzania Zambia, Sierra Lione Namibia, Kenya, and Liberia.
