How to Read the Course Listings

Program Abbreviation and Course Number: This number identifies the course as listed in the Graduate School Catalog (or Course Descriptions).

CRN: The Course Reference Number is a reference number to the course and section that students use for registration. The section number identifies a specific set of class meetings, class site(s), and instructor(s).

Course Title: Course content is briefly suggested here. For more information, see the Graduate School Catalog (or Course Descriptions).

Meeting Days and Times: This area shows the day(s) and time(s) of class. Sometimes this area will show “To Be Arranged” or “TBA.” It is the student’s responsibility to seek clarification from the program before the first class meeting.

Location: Information within parentheses shows the building and the room of the course meeting. Sometimes this says “TBA,” which means “to be arranged.” It is the student’s responsibility to seek clarification from the program before the first class meeting. View the campus map.

Credit Value: Shows the number of credits the student will earn upon successfully completing the course. Where variable credit ranges (1-12 credits) appear, the student requires written approval for a specific credit level from the program sponsoring the course. The student must submit the approval at the time he or she enrolls in the course.

Instructor: The name of the faculty member who is scheduled to teach the class is listed here. “Staff” shows that the specific instructor has not been identified at the time of publication.
